1980

The Chinese have been using slate for roofing for a long time. The slate companies were started in the 1980’s. The first export was through the China Mineral Import and Export Corporation to the USA and Europe.

1992

Since 1992, many Chinese, German, and Spanish companies have invested in the slate quarries of Shaanxi and Hubei Provinces. At that time, there were more than 100 small quarries in China.

As chartered quantity surveyors and experts in overseas trade, our UK-based team was invited by the local government to help develop the natural slate industry. They trained the quality control team to meet the strict standards and requirements of different countries.

1997

Our UK-based team formed a joint venture company and invested in the Dongmu quarry in 1997.

2008

In 2008, due to the global economic slowdown and strict environmental rules from the Chinese government, the slate quarries closed one by one. However, we safely kept the official test results of these quarries done by our expert partners from Germany.

In 2019, our UK-based team partnered with quarry owners and state-owned companies to reopen the finest quarries. We now has a team of geologists, mining experts, and environmental engineers to develop high-quality, sustainable slate quarries alongside local governments.

2019

In 2025, with the assistance of our UK-based team, we established the Redtree Slate brand and decided to expand into markets other than the UK, aiming to make China Slate known to a wider global audience. Leveraging our own mines and standardized slate roof tile production capacity, we launched our global market expansion strategy.
